Job Summary
The DQ Data Incident Director leads the enterprise-wide Data Quality Incident Management Program, ensuring consistent and effective handling of data quality issues across the organization. This role is responsible for developing the strategy, framework, and operating model for incident management, while overseeing daily program operations and supervising the DQ Data Incident Team. The Director ensures standardized procedures for incident intake, triage, escalation, and resolution are implemented and aligned with enterprise governance policies. Additionally, they drive cross-functional collaboration, oversee executive-level reporting, and implement continuous improvements to strengthen data quality across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and direct the enterprise-wide Data Quality Incident Management Program, including strategy, framework, and operational model.
- Oversee daily program operations to ensure timely intake, triage, escalation, and resolution of data quality incidents.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the DQ Data Incident Team, fostering performance excellence and professional growth.
- Define and maintain standardized incident handling procedures and workflows aligned with enterprise policies.
- Coordinate with data leaders, stewards, IT (data custodians), and business units to ensure effective incident resolution.
- Manage incident tracking, documentation, and reporting, including executive-level summaries and trend analysis.
- Drive continuous program improvement by identifying systemic issues, recommending enhancements, and implementing preventative measures.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices related to data quality and incident management.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required; advanced degrees (Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s) preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- 5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, issue management, or related disciplines, including at least 3 years in a leadership or program management role.
- Proven experience designing or enhancing incident management programs with strong knowledge of program structures, workflows, and stakeholder engagement.
- Solid understanding of data lifecycle management, data quality dimensions, and incident handling frameworks.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and executive reporting skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, BCBS 239).
- Proficiency in data management tools, workflow platforms, and incident tracking systems is a plus.
