Component Design Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Gas Turbine Design Engineer to develop innovative and robust engineering solutions for aerospace turbomachinery components. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with gas turbines and a strong understanding of aerospace design principles, including manufacturing feasibility and supplier interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop complex design solutions for gas turbine components that meet aerospace functional, physical, and manufacturing requirements.
• Create detailed component design definitions, including drawings and model-based definitions, aligned with module, system, and customer interfaces.
• Establish dimensional tolerance stacks and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements, supporting manufacturing to produce conforming hardware.
• Support supply chain activities by reviewing supplier documentation, assessing non-conforming hardware, and evaluating supplier change proposals.
• Develop, approve, and execute validation and verification plans to demonstrate compliance with engineering requirements.
• Provide technical support for manufacturing, assembly, service, and aftermarket issues, including failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective action implementation.
• Present and defend design solutions and technical work to program leadership and stakeholders.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience with gas turbine systems.
• Prior experience with designs in the aerospace industry.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
