Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist I to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in specimen collection, handling, and processing, with a strong understanding of safety protocols and patient care. This role involves working with pediatric and geriatric patients and requires attention to detail and adherence to established procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws and other specimen collections (e.g., urine, fecal) following established procedures.Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process to patients.Demonstrate proficiency in using straight and butterfly needles.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.Package and store specimens according to required temperature and protocol to maintain integrity.Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures.Update patient information accurately in the system.Ensure 100% accuracy in checking test requisitions or computer labels against physician scripts.Required QualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience as a phlebotomist, including work with pediatric and geriatric patients.Valid Phlebotomist license in the state.Proficient in using straight and butterfly needles and handling color-coded tubes.At least 2 years of experience with blood draws and venipunctures.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or equivalent.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in clinical or hospital settings.Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.CertificationsPhlebotomist License – Required in the state .Education: High SchoolCompany DescriptionCompunnel Software Group, Inc., the parent organization of Compunnel Healthcare has expanded its staffing services within the blooming healthcare industry.
