Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support clinical operations in the procedure and recovery rooms. The Medical Assistant will assist nursing and clinical staff in post-procedure patient care, help prepare and clean procedure areas, and ensure a safe, efficient, and well-organized clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff and clinicians in the recovery room with patient monitoring and basic patient care activities.
- Clean, restock, and break down procedure rooms after each case to maintain a sterile and organized environment.
- Prepare procedure areas by ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
- Support clinical staff with patient transport, positioning, and comfort as needed.
- Dispose of used materials and instruments according to infection control and safety protocols.
- Maintain proper documentation of cleaning, stocking, and procedural room readiness.
- Follow all facility policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the department.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical/hospital support role preferred.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of basic infection control and safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in recovery room, surgical, or procedural settings.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Certifications
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.
