Requirements / Qualifications

1. CTE Credential in the area of Public Safety, or qualify for this credential based on three (3) years of full-time (paid or unpaid) industry experience (or a combination of applicable college credits and industry experience), as well as a high school diploma. Specific credential information may be found here: https://www.lacoe.edu/Curriculum-Instruction/Career-Technical-Education/CTE-Credentials. The associated costs for the preliminary CTC credential will be at the employee’s expense. 2. English Learner Compliance: If you don't have an English Learner Authorization you will be required to apply for an emergency/waiver permit with the CTC as a condition of employment. During the first year of employment, you will need to earn the English Learner Authorization certificate by coursework, exam, or a combination of coursework and exam. The associated costs for the emergency permit and coursework/exams will be at the employee’s expense. Below are links to the CTC website for additional information and requirements. Three professional letters of recommendation from immediate supervisors signed and dated within the past two years. 5. Copy of CTE Credential and transcripts
