Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This position is integral to ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering high-quality healthcare services.
Duties
- Perform patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs and updating medical histories
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings
- Support medication administration and basic life support as needed
- Document clinical notes accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems using appropriate medical terminology and ICD coding
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures such as X-ray or other imaging studies
- Manage patient flow efficiently within clinics specializing in geriatrics, internal medicine, or surgical care
- Assist with specimen collection, wound care, and other clinical tasks in various departments including PICU, OR, or Level I/II trauma centers
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions and ensuring comfort throughout their visit
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate medical records
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to outpatient and inpatient care
- Experience with dermatology, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or urgent care settings preferred
- Proficiency in using EHR systems for documentation and coding (ICD)
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement and basic patient assessments efficiently
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and basic life support certification required
- Experience working in hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or PICU is advantageous
- Knowledge of medical-surgical procedures and geriatrics care enhances the ability to provide comprehensive support
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations
- Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms or outpatient clinics
