Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose eye conditions.
- Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids based on patient needs.
- Manage and treat conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive measures, and proper care of their visual aids.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health systems.
- Adapt examination techniques to optimize the care provided in a mobile setting.
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school.
- State licensure to practice as an optometrist in New Mexico.
- Proven experience in a clinical optometry or healthcare setting.
