What are the responsibilities and job description for the RESIDENTIAL DIRECTOR position at COMPREHENSIVE MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEMS?
Responsibilities:
- Provide direction and supervision for daily operations of residence(s)
- Supervise staff; provide direction, instruction, reflective coaching, and mentoring for all aspects of residential counselor job responsibilities; ensure staff members have thorough training and re-training as needed; engage each individual team member to contribute to the overall health and well-being of the individuals
- Provide ongoing training and modeling to staff in areas of professional boundaries, interpersonal skills, quality of work, teamwork, work habits and relationship to consumers
- Display and foster positive communication; promote environment of courtesy and respect for all.
- Maintain and monitor individual’s clinical, medical, health care needs. Provide training and support to staff to ensure treatment plans, specialized protocols are executed thoroughly
- Participate in development and implementation of Individual Service Plans
- Provide regular opportunities for resident participation in wellness activities, individual/group activities in the community and at home
- Management of resident medication protocols including ordering, documentation and auditing
- Maintain tracking, documentation, communication and site books, confidential records
- Adhere to established budgets for residential program. Perform routine financial auditing
- Ensure interior and exterior maintenance of the site is safe and well maintained. Submit associated paperwork
- Maintain agency vehicle(s), including registration, safety, inspection, accident reporting, general repair and routine maintenance. Submit associated paperwork
- Coordinate purchases and deliveries of all items required to operate a residence through Program Manager
- Conduct and supervise fire drills and safety procedures; ensure accurate documentation
- Prepare staff performance evaluations and other related reports with program manager
- Schedule, attend and lead (as directed) regularly scheduled house/staff meetings
- Implement staff schedule; authorize payroll time sheets, leave requests and associated staff forms, as directed
- Timely and thorough communication with respective funding sources, service coordinators and families/guardians
- Perform on-line direct care duties
- Participate in Emergency On-Call rotation
- Provide back-up for Program Manager as directed
- Comply with regulatory requirements, funding agency requirements and CMHS policy and procedures; ensure staff compliance
- Participate in professional development training and continuing education
- Other reasonably related duties as assigned
Qualifications: Minimum of two years’ experience working in a residential service system or rehabilitation setting required; minimum of one year experience specific to individuals’ diagnoses/disabilities of supervised site required; knowledge and experience with varied clinical diagnoses; strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to effectively utilize technology with strong computer skills; ability to serve as a positive role model for staff and individuals; accountability, professional self-awareness, motivation, initiative, reliability and resourcefulness.
