Neurosurgeon | Ongoing Locums | Northern Michigan
A regional medical center in Northern Michigan is seeking a Board-Certified Neurosurgeon for recurring 24-hour beeper call and rounding coverage. This is a high-acuity role requiring a surgeon capable of managing both complex cranial and spinal cases independently.
The Opportunity
- Location: Northern Michigan (Regional Healthcare Hub)
- Schedule: 24-Hour Beeper Call Inpatient Rounding
- Current Availability Needed:
- Jan 26 – Feb 2
- Feb 26 – Mar 2
- Apr 17 – Apr 27
- Scope of Practice: Emergent call, emergent surgeries, and daily inpatient rounding (5–10 patients/day).
- Clinical Environment: Full on-site support including Imaging, Lab, and OR. Collaborate with on-site Neuro/Ortho-Spine surgeons and clinic-based APPs.
- EMR: Cerner
Candidate Requirements
- Board Certification: ABNS Board Certification required (No BE candidates).
- Surgical Versatility: Proficiency in both Spinal and Cranial procedures is mandatory.
- Experience: Completed Fellowship with a minimum of 2–3 years post-training experience.
- Licensure: Active Michigan License required at time of submission (IMLC accepted only with 100% clean background).
- Certifications: ACLS Required.
Compensation & Logistics
- Pay Structure: Competitive 24-hour call rates hourly call-back pay. Travel, Lodging and Malpractice Insurance included.
- Gratis Policy: 4-hour gratis window on weekends (Sat/Sun) only.
