Arborist

Comprehensive Land Technologies, Inc., located in South China, Maine, is hiring for a full-time Arborist for work throughout Maine.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including pruning, thinning, deadwood removal, structural pruning, and full tree removals (including hazardous trees)
• Provide ground and aerial support for climbing operations using climbing systems
• Execute rigging operations, felling, and installation of cabling, bracing, and lightning protection systems
• Operate, maintain, and safely use arboricultural tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, hand tools, and aerial lifts
• Conduct vegetation management and related tree care services efficiently and in accordance with industry best practices
• Perform brush, debris, and vegetation clean‑up to maintain a safe, organized job site
• Identify and mitigate ground hazards; maintain compliance with OSHA‑aligned arborist safety practices, Maine safety standards, and all company protocols
• Communicate clearly with clients and maintain professional customer relationships
• Bring a cooperative, enthusiastic, and professional attitude to every job site

Qualifications & Requirements

• First Class Landscape and/or First Class Utility Arborist License (State of Maine)
• Minimum of 3 years of professional tree climbing and aerial lift experience
• Proficiency in all facets of tree care, including pruning, removals, rigging, and equipment operation
• Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record
• Ability to work outdoors year‑round in all weather conditions
• Willingness to perform physically demanding hand labor in proximity to buildings, electrical conductors, roadways, and other high‑risk environments
• Strong initiative, positive attitude, and team‑oriented mindset
• Passion for nature, the environment, and outdoor work
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and comply with ongoing random drug and alcohol testing

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL (Class B or higher)
• Master Landscape and/or Master Utility Arborist License (State of Maine)
• Experience communicating with clients or landowners regarding tree health, safety, and recommended care
