What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospice Volunteer Services Coordinator position at Comprehensive Health Network?
Job Summary:
Responsible for recruiting, screening, training, assigning, supervising and providing support to Hospice volunteers.
Essential Functions:
Develops and implements appropriate recruiting, screening, training and education programs and implements individual and group support systems.
Supervises all volunteers except those volunteers performing professional duties (i.e. RNs, social workers, shall be supervised by the Patient Care Manager) and maintains volunteer records.
Assigns volunteers to patient and family members and evaluates, annually, active volunteers' work performance in conjunction with other team members.
Coordinates documentation and data collection and submits reports to Executive Director upon request and prepares an annual report to Board of Directors.
Attends team conference, as necessary, to promote use of volunteers and to make assignments.
Presents hospice educational/informational programs to various groups in the community.
Additional Responsibilities:
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Adheres to the Hospice policies and Code of Ethics.
Possesses adequate knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and insurance standards to ensure reimbursement for all services rendered. (Directors, Managers, Coordinators, Professionals)
Conforms to all applicable Agency policies and procedures.
Participates actively in continuing education and inservices.
Maintains confidentiality of patient information and business trade practices.
Assumes accountability for reporting incidents and complaints according to hospice policy.
Participates as a member of the management team in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating policies and procedures.

· Ability to supervise in accordance with Hospice policies and applicable laws
· Knowledge of word processing
· Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints, regulatory agencies or members of the

Additional Requirements:
No state criminal history or not listed on OIG Excluded Providers List.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
· Education: 2 years college
· Experience: 2 years working with volunteers
· License / Certification: CPR certification; driver's license and proof of current auto liability insurance.
Preferred Position Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Social Science or related field.
Experience: public speaking.
Hospice Experience
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
