Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Temporary Environmental Health and Safety Manager (EHSM) to lead our efforts in creating a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment. In this critical role, you will be responsible for preventing workplace injuries and illnesses by identifying potential hazards and implementing effective safety and environmental policies. Your leadership will ensure that our team works in an environment that prioritizes their well-being and meets all regulatory standards.
What You'll Do
- Conduct regular facility inspections and hazard assessments
- Develop and implement safety policies and training programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations
- Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions
- Manage PPE distribution, SDS databases, and training records
- Facilitate monthly safety committee meetings
- Lead a team of Safety Coordinators
- Represent the company in industry and community safety groups
What We're Looking For
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- 5 years of EHS experience (construction or service industry preferred)
- Valid Florida driver's license and insurable by company carrier
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field
- OSHA 500 Certification
- "Train the Trainer" certifications: OSHA 10/30-hour, Confined Space, Hazmat, and GHS
You'll Succeed If You Have:
- Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, DOL, and DISA standards
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- A self-motivated mindset and ability to work independently
PhysicalWork Environment
This role involves working on active job sites in Florida's unique environmental conditions. Physical demands include lifting up to 60 lbs. and occasional in-state travel.
