What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP of Product Transition position at Composite Energy Technologies?
CET is building advanced underwater systems designed for real-world deployment-not lab
demos. We are looking for a Vice President of Product Transition to take our most critical
prototypes and turn them into scalable, production-ready products.
This role owns the gap between engineering and manufacturing. You will be responsible for
standing up the systems, processes, supply chain, and infrastructure required to deliver hardware
at scale. This is a build role. You will not inherit a mature production system-you will create it.
You should be equally comfortable making decisions on the factory floor and presenting
production readiness to defense stakeholders. Your work will directly determine whether CET
can deliver capability at scale to partners like the United Stated Department of War.
What You'll Do:
Own the end-to-end transition from prototype to production for CET's core systems
Build manufacturing capability from the ground up-processes, tooling, facilities, and
workflows
Drive aggressive design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) to eliminate
friction in production
Stand up and execute pilot builds, validation efforts, and production qualification
Build and harden the supply chain-identify critical components, qualify vendors, and
mitigate risk
Define and scale facilities, equipment, and workforce to support rapid production growth
Work directly with engineering to close the gap between design intent and
manufacturable reality
Establish clear, measurable production and readiness metrics-and hold teams
accountable to them
Move fast, prioritize ruthlessly, and make high-quality decisions with incomplete
information
Demonstrate, with evidence, that CET can manufacture at scale-internally and to
external partners and customers
What We're Looking For
Proven track record of taking complex hardware systems from prototype to production
Deep experience in manufacturing, production scaling, or process development
Hands-on leader who is willing to operate at any level-from strategy to execution
Ability to build teams, systems, and infrastructure in a fast-moving environment
Strong technical judgment and the ability to make decisions quickly under pressure
Clear communicator who can align engineers, operators, and leadership around execution
Preferred Experience
Underwater systems
Mechanical engineering background with strong knowledge of composites and
fabrication
Experience with control systems and system integration
Familiarity with defense programs, DIU, or other relevant production readiness
frameworks
Experience building or scaling manufacturing in a startup or high-growth environment
Position TypeExpected Work Hours:
Full-time salaried position. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.,
but this role requires flexibility. Expect additional hours, including nights and weekends, to meet
critical milestones.
