Summary
Our Texas State University Housing project is starting in your area! Work includes general construction support activities associated with the installation of panelized wall systems, metal decking, and related site operations.
2 Shifts:
1st Shift: 6:30AM-3:30PM
2nd Shift: 3:30PM-11:30PM
General Construction Laborers will assist with material handling, site preparation, cleanup, and support of skilled trades to ensure safe and efficient daily operations. The project requires adherence to strict safety standards and coordination with crane operations and shoring activities as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
CCSI is seeking dependable and hardworking General Construction Laborers to support our construction operations. This position involves assisting with various tasks on active construction sites, including material handling, site cleanup, and supporting skilled trades. Candidates must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist with general construction activities including lifting, carrying, and moving materials
- Perform site cleanup and maintain a safe, organized work area
- Load and unload tools, equipment, and construction materials
- Assist skilled workers such as ironworkers and equipment operators as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Report hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors
- Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman or supervisor
- Perform skilled carpentry work including framing, installation of panelized wall systems, and related construction tasks
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials according to plans and specifications
- Assist with layout and preparation of work areas
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Work in coordination with ironworkers, laborers, and equipment operators
- Maintain a clean and safe job site
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Report hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors
- Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman or supervisor
Job Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines and instructions
- Reliable transportation to and from job site
- Prior construction experience preferred but not required
Work Environment:
- Outdoor construction site with exposure to weather conditions, heights, and construction equipment
- Physically demanding work
