Composite Approach is a growing, AS9100 certified, contract composite manufacturer located in beautiful Central Oregon. We support a range of customers within aerospace and marine applications. We are a company that strives to maintain a company culture of trust, relationships, honesty and integrity. We are a tight knit crew that values others and our families. We offer a fast-paced working environment that encourages both personal and company growth.

We are seeking a motivated Associate Program Manager to support our Project Management team across a diverse mix of customer programs. This role is ideal for someone early in their program or project management career who is eager to learn, take on responsibility, and gain exposure to composite manufacturing in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. You will support senior Program Managers on larger programs while gradually taking ownership of smaller projects or defined work packages, with guidance and mentoring. This role offers strong growth potential and broad exposure across customers, products, and internal teams—plus the benefit of living and working in Central Oregon.

Role Summary

The Associate Program Manager supports the successful execution of aerospace programs—from initial scope alignment through delivery. You will work closely with lead Program Managers, engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to help track schedule, cost, and risks with clear visibility. This is not an engineering role, but the position requires comfort working in a technical manufacturing environment and the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, and customer teams.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Support customer engagement activities, including CRM updates, opportunity tracking, quoting and coordination between sales, engineering, and program teams.
  • Support Lead Program Managers in planning and executing customer programs.
  • Administer program capacity planning
  • Maintain program schedules, budgets, action items, risks, and basic KPIs.
  • Help coordinate regular team check-ins, stand-ups, and program reviews.
  • Track milestones, scope changes, resource needs, and issue status.
  • Prepare internal and customer-facing program status updates.
  • Assist with or lead small projects or defined portions of larger programs.
  • Work with engineering, production, and quality teams to understand part requirements and manufacturing flow.
  • Review BOMs, work instructions, and program documentation for accuracy and visibility.
  • Participate in problem-solving discussions related to quality, schedule, or cost issues.
  • Support communication and coordination with customers and suppliers under guidance.
  • Maintain accurate program records in ERP and tracking systems, supporting cost tracking and documentation alignment.

Attributes for Success:

  • 1–3 years of experience in project coordination, operations, engineering support, manufacturing, or a related technical environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable learning technical concepts and working with cross-functional teams
  • Proactive, dependable, and eager to learn in a hands-on environment
  • Positive attitude, works well under pressure

Preferred but not required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations, or related field is a plus
  • Exposure to manufacturing, composites, or aerospace environments
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or project-tracking tools
  • Basic awareness of AS9100 or quality systems
  • Enjoys technical hobbies

Compensation:

  • Salary: DOE.
  • Benefits: Matching retirement fund, health insurance, paid time off.
