Job Summary
The Senior Supply Planning Analyst & Buyer is responsible for developing and executing supply plans that ensure product availability while optimizing inventory levels, procurement costs, and supplier performance. This role bridges demand planning, production scheduling, and purchasing to support efficient manufacturing and distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning & Inventory Management
- Develop and maintain supply plans based on demand forecasts, production capacity, and inventory targets
- Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and reorder points to balance service levels and carrying costs
- Analyze supply-demand gaps and recommend corrective actions
Procurement & Buying
- Execute purchase orders for raw materials, components, and finished goods
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance tracking (OTIF, lead times, quality)
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms to optimize cost and service
Production & Distribution Coordination
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to align production schedules with supply plans
- Coordinate with distribution and logistics teams to ensure timely product availability
- Support new product launches and phase-outs with effective supply strategies
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze key metrics such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns, service levels, and supplier performance
- Develop dashboards and reports to support decision-making
- Identify trends and continuous improvement opportunities
Process Improvement
- Lead or support S&OP / IBP processes
- Drive improvements in planning systems, workflows, and data accuracy
- Implement best practices in supply chain planning and procurement
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field
- 5–8 years of experience in supply planning, purchasing, or supply chain roles in manufacturing/distribution
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, forecasting, data analysis)
- Knowledge of supply chain concepts (MRP, inventory optimization, lead time management)
- Negotiation and supplier management experience
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP)
- Experience with planning tools (e.g., Kinaxis, Anaplan, Blue Yonder)
- Lean / Six Sigma knowledge

Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
