We currently seek a Safety Project Coordinator/Specialist with strong field experience who can confidently lead our site safety efforts, ensure OSHA compliance, and coordinate with personnel, contractors, and operations teams to maintain a safe and compliant work environment for our field sites, including at major transport and distribution centers/terminals, primarily in southeastern PA, NJ, and DE.
Responsibilities
- Conduct safety inspections and audits at various job sites to identify hazards and assess compliance with applicable state and federal standards.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify hazards and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Organize, oversee and conduct safety training sessions and emergency response drills
- Document incidents, observations, and compliance activities for reports and submissions.
- Oversee safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians during active airfield operations.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Occupational or Environmental Health and Safety, Safety Engineering or a related field of study - equivalent qualified experience may be suitably substituted for college level studies
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a safety position, construction safety oversight, and/or conducting safety training/instruction.
- Strong knowledge of applicable federal and state occupational health and safety regulations. Familiarity or knowledge of general environmental regulatory requirements would be a plus.
- Experience leading safety briefings and compliance oversight.
- Strong communication and field leadership skills.
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends when required for field assignment.
- Requires physical stamina and the ability to work in variable weather conditions.
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Training certification preferred.
- Experience in working on construction or aviation projects is advantageous.
