Entry Level Field Trial Associates
All Field Trial Associates will need to develop proficiencies in:
- Proctor a group of trainees,
- Supervise an open-air standardized training program,
- Effectively operate Smoke Generator,
- Effectively maintain, diagnose, and repair field training related equipment,
- Manage their travel schedule,
- Coordinate their travel schedule with their co-workers, and
- lecturing classroom (teleconferencing) and in person field trials.
Duties include: the Proper execution of Compliance Assurance Associates (CAA) Visible Emissions Training and Certification Programs (Programs). This position, both in the probationary and full employment phases, will require greater than 50% travel. As the business scales, travel may increase to 75%, until additional teams are added. Employee MUST be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOT health card.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work effectively in a two-to-three-person travel team.
- Be self-motivated (will work week to week in an unsupervised team, needing to accomplish specific goals)
- Communicate effectively with management.
- Contribute to a program’s team cohesion.
- Organize equipment and vehicles as needed on a seasonal equipment travel circuit basis.
- Identify issues and recommend courses of action that contribute to operational and logistical effectiveness.
- Cultivate customer relationships through service, a professional demeanor, and tidiness.
- Define application issues by communicating with coworkers regarding procedures and processes.
- Develops solutions to application issues.
- Ability to occasionally lift 75 pounds and routinely lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb a ladder.
- Ability to properly use fuel canisters.
- Show mental presence regarding student wellbeing, and workplace and training program environments.
- Ability to drive long distances without the use of any substance which impairs driving.
- Ability to operate dangerous equipment in a safe manner.
- Ability to utilize safety equipment.
- Ability to work up to 14-hour days – rarely required.
- Ability to change and repair a tire.
- Replace and maintain trailer bearings.
- Generate adequate maintenance records.
- Ability to clearly communicate and interact with clients, and co-workers.
- Ability to follow written policies and procedures.
- Office work such as closing files, scheduling, make and receive calls.
- Any other duties as assigned by the direct manager.
Preferred Skills
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and ability to utilize our Database. Effectively use a smart phone, social media, computer technology, and email. Must have a clean driving record and the ability to travel throughout the U.S. Must be able to meet DOT requirements as medically fit to drive. Must have an aptitude for light mechanical and electrical tasks. Ethical behavior, team Cohesion, and client diplomacy are core values each employee must embrace.
General Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Science or Science Disciple Preferred, A.S. Degree acceptable, High School Diploma Required.
Acceptable life skills or previous job history is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
Ability to: coach, instruct, train, and teach individuals or groups.
