Requirements
- 2 years of Dental Assistant experience
- Massachusetts Dental Assistant License
- Radiology Certificate
- BLS Certification
- Experience administering dental x-rays
- Experience with OMS Vision or Dental EMR is a plus
- Responsible for general clinic administrative work and maintenance as well as completing lab work under the direction of the dentist
- Prepare the examination rooms for appointments by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for the dentist
- Assisting the surgeon with local anesthesia and IV sedation surgeries
- Assist the dentist during their procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs throughout the appointment
- Take dental impression
- Greeting patients as they arrive, submitting billing details to the insurance company, and scheduling the patient’s next appointment before they leave the clinic
- Educating patients on pre-op and post-op instructions
- Review patient history
- Update and maintain client’s dental records
- Perform routine dental cleanings and assist the dentist with complex dental procedures
- Take and process x-rays of patients
- Sterilize instruments
- Schedule patient appointments
- Take billing and insurance details from patients
- Advise patients on recommended oral hygiene
- Provide customer service to patients to ensure they feel comfortable during their appointment as well as well-informed about treatment and dental wellness
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with OSHA infection control policies
- Work with a variety of dental, medical, scheduling, and other organizational software in the office
