CSS is partnering with a growing distribution company in the Methuen/Lawrence area to hire a hands-on Procurement / Purchasing Manager. You’ll own purchasing and logistics, lead a small team of buyers, and drive a strategic shift from global importing toward U.S.-based assembly. This is a true operations-facing role — you’ll negotiate with vendors, manage ERP/MRP purchasing processes, and keep parts and equipment flowing so production and service teams can meet business goals.What you’ll doLead and develop the purchasing / procurement team; set priorities and KPIs.Manage supplier relationships, source new vendors, and negotiate contracts and pricing.Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of parts, equipment, and materials.Coordinate inbound logistics and work with distribution partners to optimize lead times and freight costs.Partner closely with Finance, Operations, and Service to align purchasing strategy with business goals and budgets.Maintain and improve purchasing workflows in the ERP/MRP system; ensure data accuracy and inventory control.Drive process improvements and cost-savings initiatives (vendor consolidation, lead-time reduction, safety stock optimization).What we’re looking for5–8 years progressive experience in procurement / supply chain, ideally in distribution, manufacturing, or industrial supply.Minimum 5 years of demonstrated managerial or supervisory experience.Strong vendor negotiation, cost management, and contract administration skills.Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar).- implementation experience preferred BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain, or related field — or equivalent experience.Supply chain or procurement certification (APICS, ISM, CPSM) is a plus.Results-oriented, collaborative leader with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.Why this role?Be part of a company scaling up and reshaping its supply chain strategy.Competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.Hands-on leadership role with direct impact on operations and profitability.. . .
