Role: Medical AssistantLocation: Trumbull, CTSchedule: Mon - Fri hours of 8:30 – 5Hours: $20-24/hr (Depending on Experience)Summary:Responsible for assisting physicians/providers with patient care, rooming patients, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the practice services. Responsibilities:Accompanies patients to exam/procedure room.Prepares patients for visit. Typically includes, vitals, height, weight, blood pressure, EKG, specimen collection (where applicable), phlebotomy (where applicable), INR (where applicable), pulse oximetry, spirometry, etc. Documents medical and surgical history, family history, social history, problem list, and medications, in EPIC.Assists physicians/providers with various procedures.Maintains patient records effectivelyEfficiently manages and routinely checks EPIC in-basket.Answers calls and return calls (in a timely manner) and provides pertinent informationSends/receives patient medical records and abstracts new patient records into EPIC.Cross trained on front desk duties including but not limited to, greeting patients/visitors, answering calls, scheduling appointments, maintaining/scanning patient medical recordsCleans exam/procedures rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control following established department policy.Cleans sterilizer (when applicable) according to scheduled maintenance program and maintains appropriate documentation.Maintains knowledge of practice policy, HIPPA, current coding, OSHA regulation and CLIA regulations (where applicable).High School Diploma or equivalent.Graduation from an accredited medical assistant....Pay Statement and Pay Transparency Laws: rate of pay listed is on a per hour basis.
