Full-Time Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for a residential apartment community in Ashland, MA.
This role is responsible for maintaining the overall physical condition of the property and ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained living environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete resident service requests and maintenance repairs in a timely manner
- Communicate with residents regarding service request updates and pending repairs
- Perform general repairs in apartments, common areas, and building systems
- Prepare vacant units for new move-ins, including repairs and make-ready tasks
- Maintain grounds and common areas, including trash removal and cleanliness
- Identify and address safety concerns immediately
- Maintain records for preventive maintenance, service requests, work orders, and unit turns
- Order maintenance supplies and equipment as needed
- Assist with deliveries, appliance moves, and furniture relocation when necessary
- Perform seasonal grounds work including raking, sweeping, shoveling snow, and salting walkways
- Change locks and keys as needed
- Participate in emergency repairs and on-call coverage
Qualifications
- 1 years of property maintenance or related maintenance experience required
- Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, appliance repair, and general maintenance
- Heat pump experience is a plus
- Knowledge of pools, landscaping, and cleaning preferred
- HVAC certification required - EPA/CFC certification required or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire
- CPO certification preferred
- Must provide own tools
- Reliable transportation required for vendor pickups and supply runs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to obtain Fair Housing certification prior to resident/prospect interaction
- Strong customer service and communication skills
