We are seeking a dedicated Sit-Down Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity in this role, you will be responsible for operating sit-down forklifts to efficiently load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse environment. Your expertise will ensure safe and accurate handling of goods, supporting our overall distribution and shipping operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to safety standards.
- Compensation: Approx. $21-$22 Hourly (depending on experience) / Weekly pay via 1099
- Must be OSHA Certified
- First Shift: 7am-4pm
- Steel toe boots and vest required
Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down forklifts to load and unload trucks, pallets, and containers with precision and safety.
- Perform order picking using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders accurately.
- Handle heavy materials with equipment such as clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes when necessary.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes by preparing goods for dispatch or receipt.
- Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
- Load and unload materials efficiently while adhering to OSHA safety regulations.
- Support warehouse management by organizing inventory, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring proper storage practices.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse operations and improve workflow efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, crane operation, and pallet jacks.
- Strong background in warehouse distribution, materials handling, and order picking processes.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on heavy machinery.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Experience in construction or related industries is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods.
