Role Description
This is a part-time hybrid role for an English Tutor based in Pittsburgh, PA. The tutor will assist students with English language learning, including grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills. Responsibilities include conducting both in-person and online one-on-one or group tutoring sessions, preparing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback to enhance their learning. Some remote work is acceptable for this role. An instructor will likely teach about 5 to 8 hours per week, usually on evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in English teaching, tutoring, and online tutoring methods
- Strong knowledge of English grammar and effective communication abilities
- Experience in instructing diverse age groups and adapting teaching methods to individual learning needs
- Organizational skills and the ability to develop engaging lesson plans
- Comfortable with hybrid working environments, including both in-person and remote teaching
- At least a Bachelor’s degree with GPA of 3.2/4.0 or better
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus
