As a Reagent Formulation Scientist, you will be responsible for supporting the development, manufacturing, and quality testing of reagents and consumables used in next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows. You will play a critical role in ensuring consistency, performance, and compliance across all formulation and QC processes.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Develop, optimize, and qualify reagent formulations for short-read sequencing workflows.
- Conduct and document QC testing of raw materials, in-process components, and final reagents to ensure lot-to-lot consistency and performance.
- Validate reagent performance using molecular biology and analytical techniques such as spectrophotometry, PCR, and biochemical assays.
- Troubleshoot and resolve formulation and QC issues in cross-functional collaborations with R&D, Manufacturing, and QA.
- Support regulatory and operational standards by drafting and reviewing protocols, batch records, and QC reports in alignment with internal SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain clear and accurate lab records; support data analysis and documentation for batch release.
WHERE YOU WILL WORK
- Location: Onsite at our San Jose, CA headquarters.
- Travel: Minimal to none expected.

WHAT YOUR EDUCATION LOOKS LIKE
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related life sciences field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in reagent development, QC, or analytical support—ideally within a life sciences or NGS setting.
HOW WE WILL REWARD YOU
The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000/year dependent on experience. This position is eligible to earn incentive compensation that is calculated and paid in accordance with the applicable Compensation Plan for the role.
