Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Powder Coater to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial painting and fabrication, with a keen eye for quality and precision. As a Powder Coater, you will be responsible for applying powder coatings to various metal surfaces, ensuring a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with various tools and equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, or grinding as necessary.
- Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and ovens, to apply coatings evenly.
- Monitor the curing process to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality.
- Inspect finished products for defects or inconsistencies and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and maintain high-quality standards.
- Utilize hand tools, cranes, and forklifts as required for material handling and equipment operation.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Experience
- Proven experience in industrial painting or construction painting is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Familiarity with basic math skills for measuring materials accurately.
- Experience with fabrication processes is a plus.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, cranes, and forklifts safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is beneficial.
- Previous experience in welding is advantageous but not mandatory.
