Food Service Director Qualifications & Responsibilities:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- serv safe certified
- experienced as Food Service Director in a skilled nursing facility for 3 years
- Long term care dietary management experience preferred
- Inspects the Dietary Department daily to ensure that it is safe and sanitary
- Submits written reports to the administration as necessary
- Plans nutritionally balanced & therapeutic meals that reflect the likes and dislikes of residents, as well as Public Health regulations
- Responsible for food purchase, production, and timely service of meals
- Directs and supervises all dietary functions and personnel
- Hires, orients, trains, counsels, disciplines, and when appropriate, terminates dietary staff
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure proper food preparation and service.
- Ensure meals are prepared in accordance with dietary requirements, nutrition standards, and facility guidelines.
- Monitor food safety practices to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Maintain inventory levels and order food and supplies as necessary.
- Assist with menu planning and implement resident-specific dietary needs.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas.
- Maintain accurate records, including food temperature logs and sanitation reports.
