Responsibilities:
- Activity Planning:
- Collaborate with the Activities Director to plan and organize a variety of activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of residents.
- Develop monthly activity calendars outlining scheduled events and programs.
- Facilitation of Activities:
- Lead group and individual activities, including games, crafts, music, and outings.
- Assist residents in participating in activities, adapting as needed to accommodate individual abilities and preferences.
- Social Interaction:
- Foster a sense of community and social interaction among residents.
- Facilitate group discussions, social clubs, and other opportunities for residents to connect with one another.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff regarding upcoming activities and events.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure coordination and support for facility-wide programs.
- Personalized Care:
- Get to know residents on an individual basis to tailor activities to their preferences and needs.
- Adjust activities based on resident feedback and changing interests.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role or a strong passion for working with seniors.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for developing and implementing engaging activities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy and patience in working with individuals with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and departments.
- Basic computer skills for activity planning and documentation.
