Position Overview:
The Mitigation Leader is responsible for initiating the mitigation and restoration process, developing an effective mitigation plan, and ensuring the plan is executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with industry standards.
As the primary on-site representative of Compleat Restorations, the Mitigation Leader must demonstrate excellent customer service, strong communication skills, and a high level of professionalism. This role requires frequent travel to multiple job sites and the ability to work in a variety of environments, often under time-sensitive and dynamic conditions.
The Mitigation Leader provides direction and leadership to crew members, ensuring tasks are clearly communicated and performed properly. This position is also responsible for accurate and timely job documentation. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, and capable of leading teams while maintaining a calm, professional presence in high-stress situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to customer needs following property damage events and initiate the mitigation and restoration process
- Develop clear and effective mitigation plans and ensure they are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with industry standards and IICRC guidelines
- Provide direction and leadership to crew members, ensuring tasks are clearly communicated and performed correctly
- Conduct daily job site checks to monitor progress, address challenges, and ensure quality control and compliance
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely job documentation, including photos, daily logs, and compliance records
- Ensure quality control and enforce job site safety standards at all times
- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, project managers, supervisors, and internal teams
- Perform mitigation and restoration tasks to the highest standards of quality
- Complete all assignments promptly, professionally, and in alignment with company expectations
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and respond to emergency jobs when available
- Travel to multiple job sites daily and work in a variety of environments
- Operate company vehicles responsibly and in accordance with company policies
- Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of mitigation experience required; five (5) or more years preferred
- Proven experience managing residential and commercial mitigation projects
- Ability to effectively follow direction while leading and supervising a team
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to job sites as required
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong communication skills with a focus on excellent customer service
- High level of attention to detail and organizational accuracy
- Experience with mitigation documentation and processes, or a demonstrated willingness and ability to learn
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Frequent travel to multiple residential and commercial job sites, often with varying schedules
- Work performed in diverse environments, including hot, cold, wet, humid, dusty, dirty, and odor-prone conditions
- Exposure to damaged structures resulting from water, fire, mold, or other property loss events, once areas are deemed safe
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as crawl spaces, basements, and attics
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working on feet for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, equipment, and tools weighing up to 50 pounds or more
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, goggles, respirators, Tyvek suits, hard hats, and high-visibility clothing
- Exposure to cleaning agents, disinfectants, and restoration equipment in accordance with safety guidelines
- Prolonged periods of driving and occasional desk work for job documentation and reporting
- Work performed in fast-paced, time-sensitive, and occasionally high-stress situations
