Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and maintaining detailed care plans
- Administer medications accurately following HIPAA guidelines and care protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist residents with meal consumption
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory-related conditions, ensuring their safety and comfort in memory care settings
- Support residents during social activities and engage them in meaningful interactions to promote mental well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in senior care, home health, assisted living, or nursing home environments with a focus on long-term care or group home settings
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications if not already held
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or dementia is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts confidently
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient support and social work principles
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed care plans while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing resident needs
