What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Coordinator position at Compassionate Heart Ministries?
Status: Full Time- 40 Hours
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 8:00AM –5:00PM, with four additional planning hours worked in office or remotely on Friday.
Reports to: Program Manager
Summary: The Activity Coordinator is responsible for creating, developing, and implementing a variety of fun, purposeful and intentional activities for Donut Club & Club 404. These activities are central to carrying out Compassionate Heart’s mission. The Activity Coordinator will develop structured activities that promote the core values of CHM as well as encourage community and friendships among the participants and volunteers. These activities will build on life skills, social skills and movement skills that are necessary for living a healthy and full lifestyle. The Activity Coordinator will equip Program Staff to execute activities by documenting and explaining expectations and providing performance feedback.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have an educational background in Education, Physical Education, or Special Education. The preferred candidate will have at least 3 years' experience working with people with disabilities and have a good understanding of Autism. The candidate must be highly creative, organized, energetic, work as a team, and be able to communicate clearly and effectively. Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated. The Activity Coordinator must be passionate about people of all abilities and committed to serving Jesus Christ.
Pay: $15.85 - $18.00 per hour
