Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Certified Veterinary Technician, where your expertise will directly impact the health and well-being of our diverse animal patients. At Compassionate Care Veterinary Services we provide a thorough and individualized approach to veterinary medicine where your skills will be fully utilized. Our team is highly collaborative and very stable, with minimal turn over and a collaborative atmosphere. We are looking to add a part to full time CVT.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and confidence.
- Perform animal restraint and handling using humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. We are a Fear Free Certified Practice.
- Conduct laboratory work including blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests utilizing veterinary software and lab equipment.
- Manage anesthesia protocols including monitoring vital signs during general anesthesia and critical care procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary guidelines.
- Support pet care activities such as grooming, feeding, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas.
- Operate radiology equipment to perform diagnostic imaging like X-rays while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Assist with animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and ensuring proper animal physiology documentation.
- Handle emergency medicine cases with urgency, applying veterinary critical care skills to stabilize patients.
- Maintain detailed records of all procedures, treatments, and client communications using veterinary software systems.
Skills
- Proven kennel experience coupled with strong animal handling and dog training skills.
- Deep understanding of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and surgical assistance procedures.
- Experience with laboratory diagnostics, radiology diagnostics, phlebotomy, and medical equipment operation.
- Skilled in anesthesia administration, monitoring veterinary anesthesia (including general anesthesia), vascular access (IV insertion), and animal catheterization.
- Knowledge of pet grooming practices alongside pet care responsibilities to promote overall animal well-being.
- Ability to perform diagnostic radiology including X-ray imaging with precision; familiarity with veterinary surgical assistance is a plus.
- Excellent client communication skills to explain procedures clearly and compassionately to pet owners.
- Strong background in emergency medicine, critical & intensive care scenarios requiring quick thinking and decisive action.
- Familiarity with veterinary software for record keeping and diagnostic purposes; experience in veterinary laboratory work is advantageous.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
