What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Bus Driver position at Compass Transportation?
Compass Transportation is experiencing rapid growth and is currently seeking School Bus Drivers to join our team immediately. If you do not currently possess a CDL, don't worry! We offer paid CDL training at absolutely no cost to you! Our location is at 5740 N Tripp Ave, Chicago IL 60646 (base).
Responsibilities and Duties:
As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, following a designated route and schedule. Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:
Drive the school bus safely following traffic laws and company rules.
Keep students safe and comfortable during the ride.
Stick to assigned AM & PM routes and schedules for pickups and drop-offs.
Check the bus before and after each trip to make sure it's working well.
Keep the bus clean and tidy inside.
Speak professionally with students, parents, and school staff.
Handle any concerns with student behavior calmly and politely.
Go to required training and meetings.
Qualifications and Skills:
Clean background
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Valid U.S. (IL) driver’s license held for at least 3 years with no suspensions
Class B CDL License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements (paid training available at no cost to you if you don’t yet have a CDL)
Willingness to work morning and afternoon shifts as assigned
Available to work a minimum of 25 hours per week, up to 40 hours depending on route assignments
Willing to work on charter trips as needed
Please bring a copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) to the interview
