This role ensures excellence in resident care, team engagement, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and occupancy growth across the campus.
As a Campus Director, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks.
Campus Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Provide executive leadership and daily operational oversight for both assisted living and memory care communities on campus.
- Ensure consistent execution of Compass policies, procedures, and operational standards across both communities.
- Lead campus leadership team meetings, ensuring alignment on priorities, census, staffing, clinical performance, and operational goals.
- Drive accountability across all departments including care, culinary, maintenance, life enrichment, and business office functions.
- Ensure both communities maintain a strong culture of service, engagement, and resident-centered care.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for survey readiness, regulatory compliance, and deficiency-free outcomes.
- Own campus financial performance including revenue, expense management, NOI, and budget adherence.
- Partner with RDO to develop and execute annual operating budgets for both communities.
- Monitor daily census, occupancy trends, and revenue performance; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure labor management practices align with budgeted staffing models and acuity needs.
- Review monthly financial statements and take proactive action to address variances.
- Partner with Regional Sales leadership and Community Relations Director (CRD) to drive occupancy growth across both communities.
- Support strategic sales planning, pipeline development, and conversion improvement efforts.
- Participate in high-level sales strategy discussions, referral relationship development, and community positioning.
- Ensure urgency in inquiry response, tour conversion, and move-in execution across the campus.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, competition, and census challenges impacting performance.
- Ensure high-quality resident care and services across assisted living and memory care.
- Partner with Health Services Directors/Resident Care Directors to ensure regulatory compliance and strong clinical outcomes.
- Oversee risk management, incident response, and quality assurance processes.
- Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and engagement for all residents.
- Ensure care plans are individualized, updated, and effectively implemented.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing leaders across both communities.
- Build strong leadership bench strength and ensure succession planning at all levels.
- Provide coaching, performance management, and accountability for department leaders.
- Foster a culture aligned with Compass values: goodness, loyalty, faith, and fun.
- Ensure effective communication across all departments and shifts.
- Maintain full compliance with state, federal, and company regulations.
- Ensure both communities are survey-ready at all times.
- Oversee implementation of corrective action plans following audits or surveys.
- Maintain strong systems for documentation, incident reporting, and follow-up.
- Represent both communities in the local market and strengthen referral relationships.
- Build and maintain partnerships with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, physicians, and community organizations.
- Support marketing events, tours, and outreach efforts in partnership with sales leadership.
- Promote a positive reputation for Compass Senior Living in the local community.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality operations required.
- Experience overseeing both Assisted Living and Memory Care operations highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in census growth, financial performance, and team leadership.
- Strong working knowledge of state and federal regulations governing senior living communities.
- Experience with budgeting, financial statements, and operational performance management.
- Proven track record of building high-performing teams and developing internal leadership talent.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment with accountability for outcomes.
- Licensure requirements (if applicable by state): Administrator license or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, engage, and hold teams accountable.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to build trust across residents, families, and team members.
- Strategic thinker with strong operational execution skills.
- Financial acumen with ability to interpret data and drive performance improvement.
