What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prior Authorization Specialist position at Compass Rehabilitation Center?
Well-established multi-discipline rehabilitation facility in East Lansing is seeking a Prior Authorization Specialist to join our rehabilitation team.
Under general supervision, the right candidate, will process pre-authorizations for Rehab procedures quickly and efficiently. Candidate will:
- Notify patients of their financial responsibilities
- Explain practice financial policies
- Set up payment plans if necessary following practice guidelines
- Verify and understand insurance benefits.
The right candidate will communicate effectively with patients, physicians and medical assistants. They will be cross-trained in all clerical roles including but not limited to:
- check-in
- check-out
- telecom
- new patient scheduling
- Perform other duties or functions as assigned.
Experience with scheduling procedures/testing and pre-authorization knowledge a plus. EHR experience preferred. One to two years of authorization experience, extensive knowledge of insurance benefits and collection experience is preferred.
The right candidate will be personable and energetic with excellent communication skills. The applicant must be reliable, self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to multi-task. We offer a competitive salary and benefits. One year experience preferred.
