Reports to: Clinical Supervisor
Position Overview: Compass Recovery West is an outpatient substance use disorder treatment program. A Counselor at our West Springfield location will be responsible for providing group and individual therapy to adult clients from diverse backgrounds. Counselors work closely with the Clinical Supervisor and Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide clinical services to our clients. Counselors create clinical treatment plans for development and implementation.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Provides clinical services that comply with county, state and federal regulatory agencies
- Adheres to the required HIPAA and documentation requirements as identified by county, state and federal regulatory agencies
- Creates treatment plans, case notes and written correspondence that meet county, state and federal agency standards
- Participates in team meetings and attends meetings when requested by the Clinical Supervisor or COO

Minimum Qualifications
- Direct experience working in substance abuse treatment.
- Three or more years of clinical experience in substance abuse treatment environment preferred.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Dynamic and enthusiastic personality.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day.
