Job Summary
Café Sous Chef – Hospital Café (Full-Time, AM/PM Shifts)
Location: GMH
Schedule: Monday–Friday with alternating weekends | AM/PM shifts (4:00 a.m –7:00 p.m.) | No late nights | 5-day work week
Position Summary
Morrison Healthcare is seeking a talented and hands-on Café Sous Chef to support our hospital café operations. This position assists the Senior Executive Chef in managing all retail food outlets serving patients, guests, and hospital staff. The ideal candidate is a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is passionate about great food, guest service, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
- Support and manage day-to-day café operations in partnership with the Senior Executive Chef.
- Ensure all recipes, preparation methods, and presentations meet Morrison Healthcare and Compass Group standards.
- Oversee food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
- Serve as a front-facing leader, engaging with guests, staff, and hospital partners during service.
- Train, mentor, and motivate culinary staff to maintain high quality and service standards.
- Assist with ordering, inventory management, and production planning.
- Contribute ideas for menus and seasonal offerings that enhance the café experience.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience required.
- High-volume foodservice experience preferred, especially in healthcare, hospitality, or institutional settings.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to build positive relationships with staff and guests.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining composure and professionalism.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
