Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process medical record requests in compliance with HIPAA
- Log, prepare, and send records via mail, email, or fax with accuracy and professionalism
- Prepare invoices for billed record requests and monitor timelines for release
- Scan and upload documents into the EHR and audit scanned files for quality
- Support medical records audits, chart conversions, and purging projects
- Provide excellent customer service via phone and email regarding health records
- Audit discharged patient records for completeness
- Perform quality checks to ensure all scanned materials are in the EHR system
High School/GED preferred
Work Experience
- Experience in a healthcare or clerical/records role preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in maintaining confidentiality and working with sensitive information
- Comfortable with technology, document scanning, and electronic record systems
- Are highly organized and dependable with a sharp eye for detail
- Enjoy working behind the scenes to support excellent patient care
- Understand and respect the importance of confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Are comfortable working with electronic records and clerical systems
