Accepting Applicants for Proposal Submission

Compass Government Solutions is seeking qualified Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) to support the Intrepid Spirit Centers – Anomalous Health Incidents program at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. This opportunity is part of a proposal effort. We are currently accepting applications from experienced candidates to be considered if the contract is awarded.

Schedule/Hours:

• Hours of operation: 0600 – 1800
• Typical clinical hours: 0700 – 1600
• 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday
• Shifts may be 8 or 10 hours

Job Duties:

• Deliver high-level clinical expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with complex and severe speech and language impairments.
• Design and implement innovative evaluation and treatment methods, including rehabilitation strategies for unique and precedent-setting cases.
• Apply advanced diagnostic, therapeutic, and clinical trial techniques developed within the Center or with strategic partners, potentially extending across DoD.
• Contribute to the development of clinical practice guidelines, evidence-based standards of care, testing protocols, and technology applications, frequently adopted by DoD, VA, and civilian counterparts.
• Conduct and participate in advanced clinical research projects, including studies on communication and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and evaluate new clinical protocols to test the efficacy and effectiveness of emerging practices and serve as a role model in advanced clinical care.
• Maintain competency in MHS Genesis, Dragon dictation software, and Microsoft Office programs.
• Ensure documentation meets or exceeds MTF standards:
  • Notes closed in MHS Genesis within 3 business days.
  • Beneficiary portal messages responded to within 1 business day.
• Comply with MTF, DoD, and Joint Commission requirements, including quality inspections, peer review, and utilization management.

Qualifications

• Education:
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a directly related field from an accredited ASHA/CAA program.
  • Completion of at least 18 semester hours in speech pathology from a college/university program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• Certification:
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • National certification – Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Licensure:
  • Current, full, active, unrestricted license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist within the past 3 years, with preference for experience in neurological disorders, traumatic brain injury, or complex communication and swallowing disorders.
