Role Description The Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based in Warren, OH, providing direct clinical services to individuals, families, and groups across COMPASS behavioral health and related programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing and updating individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-informed counseling and psychotherapy for mental health and substance use disorders. The Therapist will provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and coordination of care with internal programs and external community partners, including healthcare providers, social services, courts, and schools when appropriate. This role involves maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation that meets agency, regulatory, and payer standards, participating in case consultations and interdisciplinary team meetings, and contributing to prevention, education, and outreach efforts as needed. The Therapist is expected to uphold trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered practices that align with COMPASS’s mission and accreditation standards.
Qualifications
- Licensed or license-eligible mental health professional in Ohio (e.g., LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, MFT, IMFT) with a master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated skills in clinical assessment, diagnostic formulation, and treatment planning for individuals with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders.
- Experience providing individual, family, and group counseling using evidence-based or evidence-informed therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care).
- Knowledge of community mental health, crisis intervention, and recovery-oriented services, including familiarity with severe and persistent mental illness, addiction, and trauma-related conditions.
