What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Teacher Assistant position at Compass Early Learning Center?
Compass Early Learning Center is currently hiring a full-time support teacher. We are seeking engaged, outgoing staff to be part of a dynamic team working to eradicate generational poverty in Monroe County by providing high quality early childhood education (and other services) to all families, regardless of income. Compass Early Learning Center provides quality care to children ages 1 to 5 years old.
Compass Early Learning Center is currently rated Paths to Quality Level 4 and is accredited through the National Accreditation for the Education of Young Children.
Support teachers assist the lead teacher and aide to manage the classroom and engage with children and ensure safety and supervision. Support teachers at Compass ELC are part of a three person team including the lead teacher, the assistant, and the support staff. Compass Early Learning Center strives to create a work environment that fosters a positive, collaborative culture.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in early childhood education preferred (strong preference for those in the education field).
*All employees must be willing to obtain 12 credits in early childhood education with a TEACH scholarship available.
*Ability to lift and carry children regularly.
*All lead teachers will need a degree or to pursue a degree in early childhood education or a related field.
*Must be able to pass drug screen at hire and at random
* Drug screen, FBI background check, TB test and health screen required
*Experience with children under the age of 6 in a group setting is strongly preferred
Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8:15AM-4:45PM or 9:00-5:30PM
Full-time: Starting at $17.50. Hourly rates are determined by education in the ECE or related field and tenure with the agency.
