Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental practices and technologies, as well as a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
- Perform chairside assisting duties, including taking vital signs and managing patient comfort.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping.
- Conduct X-ray imaging and medical imaging procedures while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Support pediatric dentistry by creating a friendly atmosphere for young patients.
- Maintain infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to manage patient flow and scheduling effectively.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry practices.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry being a plus.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Epic or similar EMR systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical coding, medical records management, and documentation processes is beneficial.
- Experience with 3D scanners and other advanced dental technologies is desirable.
