Your Role as a Resident in Counseling
As a Resident in Counseling (MST), you’ll work with youth and families to identify challenges and implement sustainable change strategies at home and in the community. You’ll:
- Provide therapy using the MST model — with a focus on family systems, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and behavior change
- Engage caregivers, schools, community supports, and legal systems in treatment
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Participate in weekly case planning and professional development
- Be part of a rotation providing 24/7 crisis support (shared across the team)

Requirements:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Driver’s license with 1 years of driving experience.
- Experience using pragmatic family therapies, cognitive-behavioral techniques and/or couples therapy using behaviorally based approaches
- Previous work providing in-home or community-based therapy services.
- Experience in implementation of interventions within or between systems in the youth’s natural ecology (I.e., family, peer, school and neighborhood).
