Position Title: Housekeeping and Education Coordinator
Reports to: Tenant Services Program Manager

Summary:
The Housekeeping and Education Coordinator position is responsible for the overall operations of the Light Housekeeping and Education program. The Housekeeping and Education Coordinator works closely with the Tenant Services Program Manager. This position ensures compliance with CAH directives and applicable grantor/funder program requirements and contract deliverables.
The ideal Housekeeping and Education Coordinator candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various teams across multiple departments within Compass Affordable Housing, keeping projects and tasks on schedule and within the project’s scope, in support of the Tenant Services Program Team.
As the Housekeeping and Education Coordinator, your job duties are to train and supervise House Cleaning Specialists, prepare schedules and assign duties to staff, maintain the inventory of cleaning supplies, inspect rooms and common areas to make sure they are clean, meet the standards of the program, and report to Site Management about your team's work. The Housekeeping and Education Coordinator oversees and coordinates the activities of a housekeeping team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
1. High School education is desirable, with two to three years of relevant commercial or institutional custodial experience, including relevant training/experience in the use of commercial cleaning chemicals and equipment.
2. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
3. Ability to comprehend and learn about CAH and its activities.
4. Bilingual preferred
5. One year's experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or related duties preferred
6. Ability to read and understand written instructions, chemical labels, and warnings.
7. Physical ability to do heavy custodial work and operate cleaning equipment.
8. Good basic supervisory skills.
9. Ability to work cooperatively with other department employees and to deal courteously with grantor/funder, tenants, staff, contractors, and visitors.
10. One year experience in a non-profit setting.
11. Must have experience working with homeless or low-income individuals.
12. Have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
13. Willing to be supervised and to communicate regularly with supervisor and staff
14. Subject to satisfactory background and credit check as well as personal reference checks.
15. Must be able to obtain fingerprint clearance card without restrictions (and maintain during employment)
16. Must work with integrity and uphold the CAH work ethic.
17. Must be computer literate with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Word and Excel and be able to navigate efficiently through multiple in-house programs, Google Documents, Google Drive, Google mail and using share drives. Experience with internet, on-line research, email, and electronic work is a must.
18. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Contract Requirements:
1. Ensure all contract and program goals are met including customer satisfaction, safety, effectiveness, and quality program staff performance.
2. Monitor and ensure compliance with contract performance standards including household numbers, percentage goals, participant numbers, etc.
3. Work with Tenant Services Program Manager to prepare for and coordinate all contract and funding compliance monitors.
Staff Management:
1. Oversee program activities in accordance with the vision, mission, goals, strategies, and policies of CAH.
2. Train and educate staff in cleanliness, tidiness, and hygiene standards.
3. Assigning daily housekeeping and education tasks, scheduling, training, and evaluating performance of House Cleaning Specialists.
4. Work with Tenant Services Program Manager to review and approve House Cleaning Specialists timesheets for timely submittal to the Finance team.
5. Work with Tenant Services Program Manager for prompt vacation and sick time paperwork and performance reviews.
6. Provide each House Cleaning Specialists with coaching conversations and when necessary, corrective action plans.
7. Conduct reviews of program staff with the Tenant Services Program Manager.
8. Monitor staff performance and provide staff trainings.
9. Assist House Cleaning Specialists with problems or unusual situations
10. Manage minor disciplinary actions and other personnel problems
11. Report significant personnel problems to supervisor
12. Determines that established standards of quality and quantity are met.
13. Ensure Housekeeping and Education include:
- Clean floors: vacuum, sweep, dust mop, and water mop
- Wash walls, trash cans.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and woodwork.
- Collect and empty trash receptacles and pick up litter in house.
- Clean, sanitize and stock bathrooms; change and clean shower curtains.
- Replace light bulbs.
- Adjust furniture in the course of cleaning.
- Perform routine cleaning of electrical, heating, vents, and fixtures.
Budgets and Quality Control:
1. Work with the Tenant Services Program Manager to manage budgets, review program goals, objectives, outputs, and outcomes, and implement changes and make necessary adjustments when needed.
2. Ensure that budget and contract requirements meet monthly and annual projections.
3. Manage Casebook data, reporting, and other activities timely and accurately.
4. Capture and input data and work with Tenant Services staff and Director of Strategy & Data to analyze and prepare reports.
5. Prepare periodic reports on department activities.
6. Analyze and interpret data regarding personnel actions and work assignments.
Program Coordination, Cleanliness, and Maintenance:
1. Inspect rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and address any issues.
2. Ensuring all areas are clean, well-maintained, and meet established standards.
3. Assess program status and be able to recommend, implement and manage changes and interventions when needed to ensure program goals are achieved.
4. Meet weekly with the Tenant Services Program Manager to report on work completed and timelines.
5. Coordinating with other departments (e.g., grantor/funder, maintenance) to address tenant requests and maintain operations.
6. Ensure effective and professional communications and relationships with third parties, property management, employees, and CAH senior team members.
Guest Relations, Safety and Hygiene:
1. Respond to guest requests and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
2. Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials and infection control procedures.
Inventory and Supply Management: Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and room essentials, and ordering supplies as needed.
Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in the development and implementation of housekeeping and Education policies and procedures.
1. Follow personnel, financial, and confidentiality policies.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Managing complaints, addressing damage reports, and preparing relevant records.
2. Providing training on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and company standards.
3. Assist with housekeeping and education duties when needed.
4. Monitor and improve service quality.
5. Issue supplies and equipment to employees.
6. Make recommendations for improvements and ensuring efficient operations of the Tenant Services Program Team.
7. Other duties as assigned.
