We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities
- Perform data entry for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions using QuickBooks.
- Reconcile accounts on the balance sheet and general ledger to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Support payroll management activities by processing payroll data through Santrax and Quickbooks while ensuring adherence to tax regulations and payroll policies.
- Assist with financial reporting tasks such as account analysis, budget tracking, and audit preparation.
- Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions.
- Conduct account reconciliation procedures regularly to verify data integrity across various financial systems.
- Support internal audits by providing documentation and explanations related to financial activities.
Skills
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards along with governmental accounting practices is highly desirable.
- Experience with payroll management in Quickbooks combined with tax experience for accurate payroll processing.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements for internal controls and audit readiness.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; familiarity with 10 key typing is a plus.
- Ability to perform account reconciliation efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks.
- Basic understanding of budgeting processes and credit analysis principles is advantageous.
