Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide comprehensive in-home care for individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and medical needs. As a Live-In Caregiver, you will deliver personalized support to enhance the quality of life for clients while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being within their home environment.
Duties
- Monitor and observe patients closely, noting changes in condition and reporting findings accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and toileting.
- Administer medications following prescribed schedules and document medication administration in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform medical procedures such as catheter care, vital signs monitoring, and basic wound care under supervision or guidance.
- Support clients with memory care needs related to Alzheimer's disease and dementia, implementing specialized techniques to ensure safety and comfort.
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and assist with hospice or palliative care as needed.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and preparation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including laundry and general cleaning.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records and ensure compliance with privacy standards such as HIPAA.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive living atmosphere while respecting client autonomy.
Experience
Candidates should have prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Experience with long-term care settings is highly valued, especially those involving patients with disabilities or chronic conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Familiarity with medical terminology, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and caregiving best practices is essential. Additional qualifications include CPR certification, knowledge of hospice care principles, and proficiency in handling medical equipment like Hoyer lifts. Prior work involving patient care documentation, medication management, and working within HIPAA guidelines will strengthen your application. Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or complex health needs is preferred to ensure comprehensive client support.
