What are the responsibilities and job description for the Artificial Intelligence Engineer position at Companion Intelligence?
Company Description Companion Intelligence is focused on giving individuals control over their own digital histories and online presence. Building on the vision behind Lifescope, the company develops tools that allow people to search and explore their personal “internet of you” rather than relying on large platforms to manage their data. The team is committed to reshaping how information is stored, accessed, and understood on the web. Applicants will join a mission-driven environment that values privacy, transparency, and user empowerment. Working at Companion Intelligence means contributing to human-centered technologies that challenge the status quo of data ownership.
Role Description The Artificial Intelligence Engineer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Santa Monica, CA, with flexibility for some work from home. This role involves designing, building, and optimizing AI models that help users organize, search, and interpret their personal digital information. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and training neural network architectures, implementing NLP solutions for text understanding, and applying pattern recognition techniques to large, heterogeneous data sets. The engineer will collaborate with product and software development teams to integrate AI features into scalable systems, write clean and maintainable code, and conduct experiments to evaluate model performance. Additional tasks include monitoring production models, improving inference speed and accuracy, and documenting technical decisions and best practices.
