Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, including animal restraint, catheterization, and laboratory testing.
- Perform diagnostic imaging such as X-ray procedures with precision and aseptic technique.
- Provide comprehensive animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas.
- Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet dental care.
- Handle a variety of animals confidently, including dogs, cats, and equines, ensuring safe animal handling and training when necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records and laboratory logs while adhering to veterinary terminology standards.
- Educate pet owners on animal care practices, pet grooming, and basic health maintenance.
Experience
- Proven veterinary technician experience in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Kennel experience with animal care and handling across different species.
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory techniques.
- Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology.
- Hands-on experience with X-ray imaging, aseptic techniques, and pet grooming.
- Equine experience is a plus but not required; a strong foundation in dog handling and animal restraint is essential.
