Duties
- Safely operate forklifts.
- Manage inventory movement using warehouse management systems (WMS) to track stock levels and locations accurately.
- Pick orders efficiently using order picker equipment and ensure accurate order fulfillment for shipping and distribution.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks by verifying shipments, inspecting goods for damage, and preparing items for dispatch.
- Conduct routine equipment repairs and mechanical troubleshooting to maintain optimal forklift performance.
- Support warehouse management by maintaining organized storage areas, conducting regular safety inspections in compliance with OSHA standards, and adhering to safety protocols during all operations.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve materials handling processes, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), order picking procedures, and shipping & receiving protocols.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs on equipment as needed.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and warehouse safety practices.
- Ability to lift heavy loads consistently and perform physically demanding tasks safely.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to coordinate effectively within a fast-paced setting.
