Blending Manager

Description

PURPOSE:

To optimize and streamline the overall operations of the blending department to ensure safety, food quality and accurate/efficient performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate current processes, procedures, and systems for improvement opportunities and make recommendations to senior management.
• Recommend measures to improve blending methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggest changes in work conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and/or improve the safety of the department.
• Implement, monitor, and maintain blending key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Promote behaviors and principles that drive continuous improvement.
• Enforce all safety and GMP rules. Take prompt corrective action concerning any potential human or food safety hazards.
• Collaborate with different teams to ensure efficient blending operations.
• Understand and communicate departmental priorities and adjust when schedules change.
• Write, review, and train the team on blending SOPs. Ensure compliance of SOPs..
• Conduct weekly meetings with Supervisors to go over schedule changes, machine installations, and work to be completed.

• Review the previous month’s performance and verify labor accuracy.
• Support new product lines and process development as needed.             
• Spend at least 60% of the time on the production floor.

• Assist with supervising indirect staff as needed, which includes Operators and Helpers.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have ability to problem solve and think critically.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role.
• Manufacturing experience required.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, math, and writing skills.
• Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Able to thrive in a constantly changing environment.
• Must have a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Proven communication and teamwork skills are essential in this role.

Preferred

• Food manufacturing experience.
• Experience managing teams of 30 or more people in a manufacturing setting.
• Bi-lingual (English & Spanish)

Qualifications

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
